Are you at the correct computer?
Ensure you are viewing this page on the computer where you want to set up the QuickBooks Desktop connection.
Install on your company's QuickBooks server (if you have one)
If your QuickBooks company file is hosted on a Windows server, wehighly recommend running this setup directly on that server. Otherwise, choose the computer that stays on (and has QuickBooks open) the most often.
Are you trying to move an existing connection to a new computer?
If you are here to move an existing connection to a different computer, please carefully follow our guide to ensure there are no issues. If not, skip this step.
Are you connecting multiple company files from a single computer?
If you plan to connect multiple QuickBooks Desktop company files from one computer, please follow our multiple connections guide for required setup instructions.
Is your QuickBooks Desktop hosted on Rightworks?
If your QuickBooks Desktop is hosted on Rightworks (formerly called Right Networks), you must first complete our setup instructions for Rightworks before continuing. If you don't know what Rightworks is, skip this step.
